The
Holy Relic of Conviction
Poison Necromancer was one of the biggest surprises of the 3.24 Necropolis league. It turned out to be one of the most well rounded builds and I did my 40 out of 40 challenges on it. This version of the build can do Uber Bosses and T17 maps even with their conditional challenges, and at the same time the mapping speed is better than any other minion build I've ever played.
Holy Relic of Conviction
damages enemies in a big range whenever you hit an enemy with an attack. In order to trigger it as often as possible we use the
Lancing Steel of Spraying
, which allows us to hit very frequently. The Necromancer ascendancy gives us easy access to Unholy Might for our minions, which converts all of their Physical damage to Chaos and allows them to apply the Wither debuff, which increases how much Chaos damage our enemies take from the hits and from poison.
The damaging Nova ability from
Holy Relic of Conviction
has an internal cooldown of 0.3 seconds. This means that by default you can trigger it only three times per second. However through boosting the quality of the skill, we can increase our minion's Cooldown Recovery Rate.
We accomplish that through getting a 20% quality gem, socketing in a green socket of
Dialla's Malefaction
chest and supporting it with an
Enhance
support gem. You could also use
Ashes of the Stars
to boost it even further.
Reaching 52% Cooldown Recovery Rate allows your minions to trigger 5 times per second. The next breakpoint is at 82%, and it supports a 6 attacks per second trigger rate. This is what I personally aimed for with this setup. There exists a further breakpoint of 128% Cooldown Recovery Rate which allows you trigger the Nova at the rate of 7.58 attacks per second.
The main damage setup will be socketed in a 6-link
Dialla's Malefaction
and it consists of:
The
Enhance
and
Empower
should be put in the red sockets for extra levels. Every other gem should sit in a green socket for extra quality which will give you the maximum damage. Use regular versions of the support gems until you have the Awakened gems.
Since we don't care about the damage coming from our attack that triggers the
Holy Relic of Conviction
Nova, we can support it with utility gems.
We will also use a couple of supporting minions for additional buffs and debuffs.
For Spectres I recommend the Arena Master which provides an extra speed boost and Pale Seraphim which makes enemies take more damage and deal less damage with a debuff it applies to them.
We're going to take advantage of a weapon trigger craft, that automatically casts spell socketed in our weapon whenever we use another ability.
Desecrate
and
Bone Offering
socketed in such a weapon will gives us permanent uptime of
Bone Offering
while automating the entire process. I chose to also socket the
Tempest Shield
there, instead of
Convocation
because
Convocation
needs to be cast manually (or through the Numlock trick) to benefit from bonuses such as "Minions Deal Increased Damage if You've Used a Minion Skill Recently", which are present on Ghastly Eye Jewels and the Enduring Bond notable passive.
For Mobility I recommend the following setup:
The two main auras used in this build are Determination and
Malevolence
. The second one can be linked with
Generosity
for even more damage.
Lastly we put
Convocation
in the remaining gem socket.
Here is a quick list of all the items you should get for this build.
Rare One-Handed Sword with the highest attack speed you can get.

Suffixes:
Aegis Aurora
- try to get it with an additional chance to block corrupted implicit
Dialla's Malefaction
- Ideally with 2 red and 4 green sockets. There are a lot of great corruptions you can get on it, both defensive and offensive. Look for one or two of those:
Geofri's Crest
- Key piece of the build that allows you to summon an additional Holy Relic
Asenath's Gentle Touch
- These gloves gives us an easy way to apply our curses. With a corrupted implicit that grants Despair on hit, we can apply it together with Temporal Chains through our attacks and boost our clear through the Explode effect.
Rare Boots with Armour and Energy Shield
Eldritch Implicits:
Prefixes:
Suffixes:
Replica Dragonfang's Flight
- with +3 to Level of all Summon Holy Relic Gems. This amulet will give you the most damage.
Anoint: Whispers of Doom

Ring 2. Rare Bone Ring

Try to get as much Duration or Charge Generation on prefixes of your utility flasks as possible to improve the uptime. The Suffixes with additional effects don't have to be on these specific flasks - you can mix and match them as long as you get each of them on any of your flasks.
For passives you should follow this exact tree:
Path of Building link: https://pobb.in/izzOYaYWvSqq
In this Path of Building you will find not only the allocated passives but also the gear and skill gem setups as well as a configuration for estimating the damage.
Pantheons are typically situational and should be swapped depending on the content you're engaging with. As a default I recommend Brine King and Abberath.
Poison Holy Relic of Conviction Necromancer is the perfect build to complete challenges with a lot of power and a comfortable playstyle. As one of the fastest minion builds it was a real pleasure to play. I hope you enjoy the build and wish you the best of luck.
